New header!

Once upon a time, Lemmings had an officer called Keirin. A resto druid with creative roots! Keirin said goodbye to the game around a year ago but is still kept in the loop of things through me (she and I share a house together), and she took up the self-imposed challenge of making us a new header image for our website. You already saw the icon she made for me last week Smile
You can find more of Keirin's work at her personal website http://www.sjusjun.com (and hire her for commissions there too Wink ).

So, Thank you Keirin for the new image, I know it took you days to make, and to Lleu (Keirin whispered to me that she received valuable feedback and input from our other former-officer).

Remains to the rest of you guildies the question.. which Lemming is your favourite? Wink

FAQ: Lemmings go Ruby Sanctum

Because there have been questions about this subject I'd like to introduce a little "Frequently Asked Questions" about Ruby Sanctum.

Question: Why aren't we actively raiding Ruby Sanctum yet?
Answer: Two reasons. Number one, we really want to reach our guild goal of killing the Lich King this expansion. We felt anxious about starting new content - even if it has one boss - before finishing Icecrown Citadel. The other reason is that it has taken us a while to sort out how we would approach RS as it's the holiday season and we've had some officer changes recently.

Officer changes

As announced in the GL news of last week, we have a few changes in the officer team. Garalia and Etax/Tun have stepped down (and go back a rank to High Lemming), and we'd like to congratulate Daz on his promotion to officer!

Garalia and Tun have both been on the officer team for a while. Garalia and Tun both joined the ranks of guild leadership when we were having difficult times in the guild and we are really grateful to have had their help and loyalty to Lemmings. However both have found that they don't have an abundance of time to spend on their officership and have offered to step down to make room for new blood.

This 'new blood' comes in the shape and size of Daz. Daz has been with the guild for áges. He actually joined before we had an application form, which we started using somewhere in 2007. Especially last year we discovered how loyal Daz was to the guild, and how much we could count on him. Today he's one of the pillars of Lemmings raiding and we believe he makes a great addition to the officerteam Smile

Pugging ICC outside of the guild

Bumping up this post as a general reminder Smile

The last few weeks I have noticed people pugging Icecrown Citadel. I would like to remind everyone that we have a rule against pugging progress content, as clearly stated in our Code of Conduct, which you agreed to when you joined Lemmings:

Although we are a casual guild, we still raid regularly. Some considerable effort is made by people in the guild to make these raids happen, and whereas we won't pressure people whatsoever to attend them (if you dont want to go thats totally fine), it really isnt looked favourably upon if you lock yourself to these instances with another group, therefore making it harder for the guild raids to go ahead. The reasoning is if everyone did this, the guild would rarely raid together (which is something we set out to do), and therefore as a guild we could deteriorate to little more than a glorified chat channel.

The Return to Ulduar (book update)

Ulduar, the Great Titan City, hidden deep within the Storm Peaks. When it was discovered, many went there to lay siege on the city and defeat the Old God that rests there: Yogg-Saron. Amongst the brave to enter the great city where the Heroes of Lemmings of the Light. All batteled bravely in the city, defeating enemy after enemy. Unfortunately, when the Old God was within their reach, the Argent Crusaders called all Heroes to report to the Argent Tournament Grounds in preparation for the attack on Ice Crown Citadel. The Lemmings of the Light chose to answer the call and left the Titan City, where the Old God remained.

Now that the Lemmings have entered Ice Crown Citadel and faced off against the minions of the Lich King, there is a stong voice coming from Ulduar that haunt the Heroes. There is unfinished business in Ulduar. The Old God still lives and the time has come to put him to rest once and for all.

One Elf and his Cat - a very personal journey through Northrend. (complete)

This is a personal account of my adventures and experiences during this expansion, my thoughts on various subjects from levelling, questing and rewards through to raiding and “end game”. There are probably going to be opinions that are not agreed by others and even thoughts that may not be shared by anyone but me. This is why I called it a “very personal journey” and I hope that any thoughts you may have after reading this you can share whether you agree with me or not.

With the Cataclysm beta underway my mind has turned to what this expansion has meant to me, how Blizzard has changed certain aspects of the game and if those changes have been a success or failure.

It may be seen by some as a little self indulgent and too long to read in full however there will be a TL;DR at the end Wink

Lemmings down Rotface in ICC 25-player mode!

On our second outing to Icecrown Citadel in 25-player mode, we managed to kill six bosses. We one-shot everything up to and including Saurfang, then two-shot Festergut and Rotface. We had a really great time and I was really impressed with a lot of the on-the-spot situational awareness skills shown by everyone - half a word and explanation was enough, even for a lot of people new to ICC!

Congratulations to our new high lemmings!

Last evening, and tonight, we have promoted our 4 new High Lemmings!Congratulations to Noobpower (Dommens), Cachaca (Lunalights), Glyphe and Loreena (Joesnow).

Dommens joined our guild last year and even though he hasn't been able to play the game continuously, he managed to stay involved in our guild community. He helped create a good atmosphere on the site by posting or contributing to such threads as "Draw your own character" and "Off topic yet sleightly on topic randomness post"!

Glyphe joined our guild in December 2009. She had to convince us - but as soon as she joined I remember thinking: 'wow, this is a social player!'. We're happy to have her onboard, even if she can't commit to raiding with us (which is a shame!) - she is a part of our community.

Lunalights and Joesnow have been strong ingredients of Lemmings culture and atmosphere since the moment they joined. They both left the guild last year when Lemmings was going through difficult times because they felt torn between Lemmings, and friends that left to form their own guild. When they returned earlier this year they picked up right where they left off, and we're very happy to have them back.
