Onyxia and Shattered Sun

The mists swirled as the ship carrying the Lemmings drew into Theramore. The harbour's archers were engaged in deadly combat with Tethyr, the monster of the deep...

Yep, last night we headed into the much-neglected Dustwallow Marsh for a little bit of old-world fun. Some Lemmings had visited the area since the goblins had established a foothold at Mudsprocket, and were able to travel to our meeting point in comfort and safety. Others had to resort to the old triathlon event - running, swimming and riding - to get to Onyxia's lair.

After a few people had to port/summon to collect their Drakefire Amulets (without which, you can't get into the lair!), we were off. An honourable lemmings death befell one of our mages, who forgot to heal after duelling, and then jumped down the shortcut in the cavern... oops!

Onyxia herself was sleeping peacefully until we arrived A *very* fast fight, despite people venturing into the egg-caves, aggroing the whelps, then bubbling whilst the healer who was keeping an eye on their health bar watched all the hatched whelplings flapping their way - *splat*

Phase 1 went without any further hitches. Phase 2 featured a couple of accidental (I hope) whelp-hatchings, and not a single deep breath. Ony simply didn't have time! Phase 3 was a little chaotic, as we forgot to lay off on the dps to allow Mac to regain aggro. Never mind! Nobody died after all

Onyxia still had the last laugh though. Of all the old T2 headgear she could have dropped, she chose to drop not one, but two Warlock headpieces. Both Warlocks in the raid already had them, but that didn't stop our intrepid master-looter

A quick portal to Stormwind, and the city was confused by the sudden yelling and buffing that hadn't been seen for many months. It was great fun to see people who had never experienced the Ony-head hand-in trying to figure out why 20 lemmings were lining up outside Stormwind

A short diversion later, and we decided to take one of the last phases of the Jailbreak questline - leading Marshall Windsor up to the throne room. I think we all forget just how slowly that man walks... Since the battlemaster isn't far away, there were more people around the area who hadn't seen the quest being done before. The expressions of surprise at Lady Katiana Prestor's unveiling was great to behold

After all the festivities were over, I decided to go solo and complete a few Shattered Sun quests. Thanks to these, I'm now Exalted with their faction (I hope they don't decide to stop asking for my help, as it's my main source of income!). The pendant that they offer is very cool for healers, with plenty of +heal and some nice mp5 on it. The Aldor side of the proc gives +220 healing for 10 seconds, and based on my quick adventures last night, it procs more than enough to make me swap the Emburspur Talisman out for it (and yes, it can proc on Renews as well!).

So, a fun night indeed, and one that makes me proud to be a Lemming!
