2009/09/15 Lemmings defeat Hodir
Tonight the Lemmings have defeated our third Keeper of Ulduar, Hodir. Initially we had great trouble of staying alive in the freezing cold, the onslaught of falling icicles, flash freezes, and the mighty frozen blows of Hodir himself. But gradually we learned to properly move around, keep our NPC's friends alive, free in time anyone who got frozen, basically stay alive! And in the end victory was ours!

After the fight we met up with a now freed Hodir. He was very thankful and promised to help us in the upcoming fight with Yogg-Saron! Our hero Matzy asked if he wanted to pose for a photograph. Click 'Read more' to see the result:

do I get extra DKP for managing to get an upskirt shot on Hodir? hehe I feel like some kinda slimey paparazzi
Minus 50,000 DKP to all

Minus 50,000 DKP to all those not wearing Lemmings tabards! Oh...er...we don't use DKP....
It was a fun night. At one point, I'm sure I wasn't alone when I thought Hodir would beat us, we were solving tiny errors, but still losing folks after a few mins and wiping at around 50%. Then, that one time, we all clicked, and I think he could have had another couple of million hit points and we'd still have done it. Kudos to all involved
Anticlimax of the night goes to me...or maybe Neti, when he built me up for my big performance...I ran on determined towards where the boss room was, trying to summon the resolve to play the 'big part' and not let everyone down.....and I ran clean through the 'frogger' bit Neti was actually meaning (still, I died to Son Of Frogger on a later pass)
With fresh minds and eyes, I think Mirmithingy will go down to the Lemmings...
When I logged in I expected

When I logged in I expected nothing else but a new screenie on the frontpage and thus the defeat of Hodir
And there was ofcourse
Well done folks
Did you use any FR gear?
It started out small...keep getting smaller [Matt The Electrician]
No we didn't use it. So it's

No we didn't use it. So it's perfectly doable without it. But the healing became considerably harder, resulting in a few wipes due to too many people dieing. However in the end we adapted and then it was ok.
so while Hodir is doable without FR gear, having the tank wear it does make the fight much easier.
nice one guys and great

dont think so spit.
it was more challenging for me as a healer, because with our previous tries (when you were tanking in FR gear) I didnt have to keep my eye on you so much during the frost blast. This time, I just had to rely upon beacon heals to keep Clout topped up and the odd massive heal, because the raid needed all three healers attention at certain points.
we also made it harder

we also made it harder because the raid member marked with the skull actually has a very powerful buff that they can share with others by running next to them. But we were told to run away from the raid. Also i noticed you only gain the buff from the beams while you are standing in them. But what a great job and to get the achievements for on raid member getting flashfreeze and all npc's surviving
yap that was funny :D

I noticed a small move like
Submitted by Daz on Wed, 16/09/2009 - 20:42.
I noticed a small move like in the last boss in Nexus won't remove the frost bite debuff, you had to move a few metres or so to remove it, but it stacked slowly, and most of my deaths were helped a lot by this debuff
All a good learning curve and happy to share this minicule bit od knowledge.
was funny when we kept getting him to around 50% and wiping, (not the wiping bit), only to have a bio, and Neti telling us that were going to down him this time, and we did :0 (i knew he was a Jedi).
It's uncanny how you can forget to do the little things in life like breath when you look up and he's at 15% instead of 50%
