Guild friends!

Hey (guild) friends! Smile

Glad to have you 'on board'. If you want, you can check our event calendar and sign up for anything you're interested in. If you're in the line-up, we'll make sure you'll know in advance!

You're also welcome to enter your own event, but please make sure not to spam the calendar and consider other events already entered for that day! Smile

We will stop guild friendship requests on WotLK release day, so we can focus with the guildies and friends that we have on levelling, questing, and building up a tight community for raiding Smile

Pugging ICC outside of the guild

The last few weeks I have noticed people pugging Icecrown Citadel. I would like to remind everyone that we have a rule against pugging progress content, as clearly stated in our Code of Conduct, which you agreed to when you joined Lemmings:

Although we are a casual guild, we still raid regularly. Some considerable effort is made by people in the guild to make these raids happen, and whereas we won't pressure people whatsoever to attend them (if you dont want to go thats totally fine), it really isnt looked favourably upon if you lock yourself to these instances with another group, therefore making it harder for the guild raids to go ahead. The reasoning is if everyone did this, the guild would rarely raid together (which is something we set out to do), and therefore as a guild we could deteriorate to little more than a glorified chat channel.

An Update Re: ICC10/ToC10 and the Weekly Boss Quest

A message from your Guild Leader

Five months ago our beloved guild leader Wilgje quit WoW for an indefinite period of time to focus more on her RL studies. She stepped down and transfered the guildleadership of the Lemmings of the Light to me. For quite a while our guild had to manage without her, but as most of you probably have noticed this period has come to an end: the Wiggles is back! During her absence of the game Wilgje has made so much progress with her studies, that she now can spend time on WoW again.

For the past two weeks Wilgje and I have discussed what role would fit her best, and in the end we agreed that it would be in the best interest of the guild if she would return as our guild leader. Her wowbreak has left her with renewed energy and she's brimming with ideas on how to shape and push our guild to even greater heights.

I will therefore step down as Guild Leader and transfer the guildleadership of the Lemmings of the Light back to Wilgje.

The return of the Wiggles

Five months ago our beloved guild leader Wilgje quit WoW for an indefinite period of time to focus more on her RL studies. She stepped down and transfered the guildleadership of the Lemmings of the Light to me.

For quite a while our guild had to manage without Wilgje, but as most of you probably have noticed last week, this period has come to an end: the Wiggles is back! During her absence of the game, Wilgje has made so much progress with her studies, that she now can spend time on WoW again, albeit on a much lower level than before.

As Ary has just had to step down as Officer, I've asked Wilgje to help out and join the officer team for a while. Wilgje will focus on the recruitment of new players, inter- and intra guild relations, and guild atmosphere in general. To help her on this she probably will call upon some if not all of you in the very near future, and I want to urge everyone to heed her call!

Welcome back, Wilgje!

Thank you, Ary!

As Arydan posted in our General Guild Stuff forum last week, she currently has a lot of stuff going on in her real life, and has therefore decided to step down as Officer of the Lemmings of the Light. This way she can focus more on just enjoying her time in-game without having to get involved with all the 'behind the scenes' stuff.

Arydan has been Officer for quite some time, and in my opinion she's the person who, after Wilgje and myself, has put the most effort in keeping our guild afloat, especially during very difficult times.

Ary is one of the True-est Lemmings in the history of our guild, and I hope she'll be able to stay and prosper in our guild for a long time to come.

Thank you, Ary!

Lemmings push forward again!

With patch 3.3 just around the corner (rumors have it that it will be rolled out next week), we've decided to make a penultimate push for the end of Trial of the Crusader *and* Ulduar (not sure what 'penultimate' means but it sounds nice ;p).

For that purpose the upcoming guild runs of Sunday and Tuesday will both be combined ToC/Ulduar runs.

On Sunday 6 December we will start with re-activating our raid lock of last week and do some attempts on the final boss of Trial of the Crusader, Anub'arak. After that we will go to Ulduar, where we will try to down at least two of the Keepers (or maybe even 3 ;p).

Then on Tuesday 8 December, if we didn't manage to down Anub'arak on Sunday, we will continue where we left off and, armed with Sunday's experiences should be able to clear Trial of the Crusader. After that we will go to Ulduar, and clear the remaining Keepers in an attempt to reach the two final bosses of Ulduar, General Vezax and Yoghurt Pot.

Lemmings push for completion of Trial of the Crusader and Ulduar

After our success at Faction Champions and our experiences with the Val'Kyr Twins fight last Tuesday, we feel that we're on the verge of completing the Trial of the Crusader instance. After discussion with the officer team I've therefore decided that for the next two weeks we will put more focus on our Trial of the Crusader run, with the goal to quickly clear that instance.

For the next two weeks we will go 2x per week to ToC and once per week to Ulduar. Plan is to progress as far possible into ToC on the first night and then attempt to complete the instance on the second ToC night. Goal for the Ulduar run is to progress towards Yoghurt Pot and down him. So this means that we will extend Ulduar's lockout period when needed. If we manage to clear ToC in one night, then we will continue the Ulduar run on the 2nd ToC night instead.

All hail the Matzy!

Dear Lemmings,

We tried to leave him in peace, but in the end, his guild called upon him to step unto the plate: today, I have promoted Matzy to officer.

Matzy applied to us slightly over a year ago. His application stood out back then; not only was it rare at that time to have such a lengthy and thought out application, we were also rather impressed by his track record. He had been a member of a couple of "big name" guilds on the server - Equanimity, Final Justice, Tabula Rasa. In the latter two he was part of guild leadership *and* their raid leader! Initially, we were worried he would be too hardcore a raider for our humble guild. However, enamored as we were we invited him. And we haven't regretted it since!

As an officer, Matzy will help me with making raids more manageable so I can focus more on recruiting and screaming on TeamSpeak being an active guild leader in guild chat. We are very proud to have this addition to our officer team so: let's hear it for Matzy!

New High Lemmings

Last week we asked you to nominate guildies who you thought were most deserving of being promoted to High Lemming.

High Lemmings are people in the guild that have been in the guild for a while and have shown they embody Lemming attitude (helpfulness, improvisation in the face of a challenge, friendlyness, being considerate of other people's feelings), people that are an inspiration and example to everyone in the guild, who help make our community what it is.

Out of all the nominees three players clearly stood out from the rest, and they have been promoted to High Lemming accordingly.

The new High Lemmings are: Jackofnon, Billi and Naicigam.

Today I can announce two changes in our guild leadership:

Yreia has little time to play in the upcoming months, and has therefore decided to step down as Warlock Counsellor. I want to thank Yreia for everything he has done for the guild, both as counsellor and as guildie. Yreia will be replaced by Bulldaz. Daz has been with the Lemmings for a very long time. In recent months he has shown that he is the True-est of Lemmings by consistently stepping up the plate when our guild experienced some very tough times. I'm sure Daz will do the same in his new role as Counsellor.

The second promotion goes to Matzy, who will be our new Paladin Counsellor, next to Spitbeard. Matzy has been with the Lemmings for almost a year now. During that time he has shown that he is a very reliable guildie who also truely understands what it takes to keep a guild ticking. In the past few months Matzy has served as the 2nd raid leader of our main guild raid. I think Matzy is an excellent choice as Counsellor as well.

Congratulations, Daz and Matzy!

The Return of Onyxia?

A bit unexpected patch 3.2.2 will not deploy in November, as previously announced, but *tomorrow*. This could mean that the fabled return of Onyxia will happen this week O_O

So if and when that happens I will shift our regular raiding program with one week to make room for some Onyxia raids. Instead of Ulduar (1 of 2) on Thursday and Ulduar (2 of 2) on Monday we will have two Onyxia runs instead. As Onyxia seems to be a T9-level raid, our normal UIL priority rules will apply. Players with the highest UIL priority can go on Thursday, the remaining players can go on Monday. Players who have more than one character can go twice, provided there's still room in the groups.

The above only applies if we can actually raid Onyxia ofcourse. If not, then we will be normally raiding Ulduar this week.

Stay tuned for updates!

How to sign up for a Lemmings raid

As we have quite a few new guildies lately who aren't that well-versed in the Lemming raiding way, I've decided to do a very short write-up on how to sign-up for a Lemmings raid. This post will only cover the basics, for the exact details you'll have to consult our (humongous) web site or you can ask me directly.

Click 'read more' for the basics!

Ulduar-sign ups and our invite-system

This post might seem familiar to those who were here at the beginning of this year or a year before that. Please read it all as it is very important to the continuity of our guild that you do. (Click read more!)

A while ago I wrote that there would be some changes in the leadership of our guild. Today I can announce two further changes:

First, I've asked Redhenry to become our Warlock Counsellor, next to Yreia who has little time to play in the upcoming months. Red has been with the Lemmings for like forever, he is a beloved guildie and an ex-Officer of the guild, and I'm sure he will do very well.

Furthermore I've asked Garalia to join the officer team. He kindly accepted, and as of today he will be helping in managing our guild. Garalia also has been with the Lemmings for quite some time, and he has shown to be a very kind and gentle guildie, and a True Lemming at heart. I'm convinced that he will make an excellent Lemming Officer.

Congratulations, Red and Gar!
